Date & time: 17 December 2024, Tuesday I 10:15 AM — 12:00 PM UTC (11:15 am – 13:00 pm CET)
The SafeHorizon Project EU and Tampere University are hosting an online hands-on workshop for security practitioners to explore the fundamental tools and concepts of the Tor Network, commonly referred to as the dark web. During this session, participants will test widely used dark web tools and examine how and why they enable online anonymity.
Participants will gain an understanding of the core design principles behind these tools and their primary applications, including anonymous web browsing, censorship circumvention, and anonymous online hosting through onion services. The workshop will also explore criminal marketplaces and ecosystems that utilise these tools, providing insights into how the illegal economy operates in practice.
This interactive workshop format allows participants to follow the content and test the tools simultaneously.
